The Ambassador
H.E. The Honourable Frank J. Crothers, O.E.
Frank J. Crothers, a Canadian citizen and longtime resident of the Bahamas, is a distinguished private investor, company director and philanthropist. He originally came to live in the Bahamas as a young boy, when his family moved to the country.
Ambassador Crothers was educated in the United States, Spain and the United Kingdom, and then pursued a notable career as an entrepreneur, founding various companies and serving on many corporate boards in the Caribbean, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and other countries.
Long active in the charitable sphere, Ambassador Crothers has served as director of the Governor General’s Award (the Bahamian branch of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award) and of the Lyford Cay Foundation. He founded the Bahamas National Feeding Network, a large-scale effort designed to help feed needy persons in the country. He is a strong supporter of the Roman Catholic Church and its activities in the Bahamas.
In 2020, in recognition of his lifelong service to the country, the Government of the Bahamas awarded Ambassador Crothers its highest honour given to non-citizens, the Order of Excellence (O.E.).
